A new racer 5

The chines are laminated from two pieces . Both the keel and chines are bolted through the frames with stainless steel bolts .

Ribs are made to go between the frames out of white oak . The bottom will be planked in two layers . The first one will be 1/4" thick laid diagonally followed by a layer of 1/2 inch laid fore and aft . The two layers of planking will be bonded together with a polyurethane sealer . The ribs allow a row of fasteners every six or seven inches holding the layers together and with a lot less weight than additional sawn frames .

The framework almost ready for planking .
